About SILProof

SILProof is a functional safety engineering workspace for IEC 61508 and IEC 61511. It helps engineers design, verify and document Safety Instrumented Functions — with transparent assumptions and an explicit requirement for independent review.

What SILProof is

SILProof is a browser-based functional-safety engineering workspace. It connects risk analysis, a SIF register, SRS drafting and SIL verification. Screening calculators are kept separate from complete SIF verification so that a screening number is not presented as a completed SIL claim.

Current scope and access

The open workflow supports risk analysis, SIF records, SRS drafting, architectural screening and quantitative SIL verification. Tools and free membership features currently cost nothing; there is no trial or subscription. Sign-in is optional and is used only to keep a cloud copy of the SIF workspace. Unsigned work stays in the current browser.

Engineering basis and limits

Read the engineering basis and review guide for the tool scope, inputs to check, and how the Knowledge Hub distinguishes equations implemented by SILProof from reference equations. Results depend on user-provided data and assumptions and require competent project review.

Start learning or working

SILProof is an engineering-support tool. Results require independent engineering review against the applicable edition of IEC 61508, IEC 61511, project procedures and competent judgement. SILProof is not a certificate, independent assessment or standards approval.
